Simply Kiwi: How Beautiful






One of ten little spotted kiwi is released on Motuihe Island, a conservation pest-free island close to Auckland, on March 21, 2009 in Auckland, New Zealand. Eventually up to 40 endangered kiwi birds will be relocated to the island.

 New Zealanders dressed as their national bird, the kiwi, belatedly celebrate Waitangi Day on February 7, 2009 in London, England. Waitangi Day falls on February 6, a public holiday in New Zealand, and marks the signing of the Treaty of Waitangi in 1840 making New Zealand part of the British Empire.
