What is About:config,

What is About:config
Well its basically a list of preferences that decide how your Firefox Browse runs. And like most Preferences they can be changed and new ones can be added.

There are quite a few About: commands within fire fox Find a list below:

About:
About:config
About:blank
About:plugins
About:cache
About:cache?device=memory
About:cache?device=disk
About:mozilla
About:buildconfig
About:credits
About:license
About:neterror?e=error&u=desc

(to view them in your Firefox Browser just enter them as you would a URL, for example see the image below.)

They are mostly informational links to the browser that will tell you information such as:

What plugins are installed.
All the cache entry's.
All the people that have contributed to Firefox.
etc etc..

You might want to have a look at each one to find out more, the information pretty much explains its self once you are there.

This page is concentrating on About:config

With About:config you can change many things within firefox to customise your experience maybe you have little memory so need firefox to be less demanding or maybe you would like firefox to use more ram!!

There are hundreds if not thousands of preferences within About:config and in future tutorials I'm going to show you how to use each of them. Some you will just be editing and others you will be creating a whole new prefference to do something that you might need or just simply want.

What ever your reason for wanting to play with firefox, I'm sure there will be a lot of plentiful information here to help you on your way.
