What are the Differences Between Intel Core i5 and Core i7 Processors?

What are the  Differences Between Intel Core i5 and Core i7 Processors?

Core i5 vs Core i7

Core i5 and Core i7 are the new Intel Processors in the market. There is also Core i3 processor. But, We will be talking here about i5 and i7. Most of us know about the two processors in the market. They are shipped with the Laptops / Notebooks or PC’s. Knowing the Difference between Core i5 and Core i7 will definitely help the consumer to choose the right processor. Below you will learn the differences between them.
Core i5
  1.     Core i5 comes in two types – a) Dual Core processor. b) Quad Core processor.
  2.     Core i5 is slower than Core i7
  3.     It uses Dual Channel Memory
  4.     It supports Hyper threading
  5.     It supports Virtualization
  6.     The performance is close to the Core 2 Quad Processor (low end one)
  7.     It support Turbo Boost

Core i7
  1.     Core i7 is a Quad Core processor.
  2.     Core i7 is faster than Core i5
  3.     It uses Triple Channel Memory, meaning DDR3. users need to install RAM sticks in multiples of 3
  4.     It supports Hyper threading but it is different to Core i5. Due to its new technology in Hyper threading. It can depict as 8 Core processor.
  5.     It supports Virtualization
  6.     The performance is close to the Core 2 Quad Processor (low end one)
  7.     It support Turbo Boost

From the above, one can make the Main Difference Between i5 and i7 is that Intel’s i7 uses Triple Channel Memory (DDR3) and different Hyper threading making it work as if it has 8 Cores.
